Fire Retardant
Cork is a naturally fire retardant material that will not release incandescent particles nor will the flames propagate. It slows or stops the spread of fire or reduces its intensity. This is accomplished by chemical reactions that reduce the flammability of fuels or delay their combustion. Thermal CorkShield™ has an ASTM E84-20 Class A Fire Rating.
Acoustic Insulation
Thermal CorkShield™ will make your home or building quieter reducing sound. It can reduce echo in any room, home, & business which is why sound recording studios still use cork to help prevent sound reverberation.
Flexibility / Elasticity
Our product has elastic properties which means that it can expand and contract depending on the weather. Unlike stucco and paint, our product is flexible and highly resistant to chipping or cracking. Due to its flexibility, Thermal CorkShield™ has the capacity to recover the initial volume after experiencing deformation. It can virtually eliminate the cracking seen in most stucco finishes.
Thermal Insulation
Vipeq’s Thermal CorkShield™ is a natural thermal barrier that greatly reduces heat or cold from penetrating into your home or office. When the cork is applied to the surface of your home, it creates a thermal break that keeps the cold outside. One of the properties of cork is that it will never go below 0° C nor above 30° C.
The surface of your home or building will feel cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This creates a thermal break, thereby reducing your energy bills in both summer and winter.
Durability
Thermal CorkShield™ is extremely resistant to harsh conditions, only fading 1% – 2% annually. One on the natural properties of cork is it will never reach a freezing point even after being submerged in liquid nitrogen.
Mold and mildew resistant
Combines the natural properties of cork preventing mold and mildew growth. Laboratory test show 0 (zero) mold or mildew growth on our product.
Salt penetration
Our product allows for minimal salt penetration protecting your home or building from damage.
